I’ve been working on a garter stitch blanket since last year. Don’t misunderstand, it’s a labor of love, but any of you who have knit a large garter stitch anything know how tedious it can be.
I think I understand! I knitted a garter stitch cardigan, finished it this summer. I love the yarn so I recomended it to my mother. Unfortunately she has got nodules on the tendons in one hand so she asked me if I could help her. Of course I could. It’s also a labour of love, but it takes some time and it is not very exciting as I have just made one quite the same but in another color.
Only 70 to go??? Almost there!
It feels like I will never be done.
I love the colors!
Thanks. I think the simplicity gives it a clean look and let’s the colors show.
It’s amazing how pretty and perfect simple garter stitch can be! A rare treasure since not many people can stand to do it 😀
I agree that this simple stitch gives the blanket a lovely texture.
I admire your persistence. Garter always seems easy and quick but I find it so boring to do so it takes longer than intricate stitch patterns.
Yes! I’ve taken breaks from knitting it and worked on smaller more interesting projects.
I do the same for for my garter stitch blanket. It is a ten stitch zig-zag so it changes up every ten rows, but still a long-term project lol.
Well done! If you are disheartened, maybe do a list and tick off a row as you do it to boost morale 🙂
That’s a great idea!
Sometimes the simplest of stitches makes for the best detailing in a pattern 🙂
(cheering you on to finish) 🙂
I agree there. Thanks for the support!
Hang in there!
Will do. (Sigh).

You’ll have to post pictures!
You can see my own cardigan in my blog under Stickat, Koftan blev klar idag. Perhaps I should write more in English?
Oh, the purple cardigan! Yes, I loved it. My favorite color plus it fits so nicely. The photos cut across language!
It looks lovely! Knit on!
Garter stitch does result in a nice look but it’s so tedious!!
Beautiful. Now if I could fit it into all my other projects.
I can’t wait to finish it so I can move on to others. I did sneak in a small project or two but am seriously trying to finish this one.
Great work!
simple… and beautiful… and almost there… go girl!
it looks super cute, share pic! 🙂
Oooh, the pain. 🙂
